PepsiCo North America follows the school beverage guidelines developed by the American Beverage Association and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a joint initiative of the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation. The guidelines were adopted in May of 2006 to give students lower calorie and nutritious beverages and are part of a broader effort to teach children the importance of a balanced diet and exercise.
